For Immediate Release
In response to repeated inquiries for deeper information about the Concessions and Hospitality industry by members, industry, press, regulators and legislators, The National Association of Concessionaires (NAC) has announced the formation of an Industry Data Initiative and has named a steering committee to oversee the ongoing efforts which are expected to begin immediately.
At an initial conference call on November 14, 2013, the committee began to discuss such important factors as goals, objectives, scope, budget and methodology. According to NAC President Jeff Scudillo, the Association is taking on a major task, “We know that this may be a Herculean effort, but we feel the benefits of having such data are worth it and we are counting on not only the support of our members, but also their participation and candor in any studies, surveys or activities. ” The data from any such inquiries will be held in strict confidence with only summary data revealed.
Scudillo added, “The genesis of this effort has been in the works for a long time, but recent experiences by the NAC Government Relations Committee have shown that having industry facts and figures at our finger tips will be important in today’s business climate as we continue to forward the Association agenda.”
The steering committee, made up from a cross-section of NAC member trading partners, will be comprised of:
Jeff Scudillo, Promotion in Motion, NAC President
Terry Conlon, ECM, University of Illinois, NAC President-Elect
Phillip R. Couch, The Coca- Cola Company, NAC Vice President
Denise De Zutter, AMC Theatres
Larry Etter, CCM, Malco Theatres
Kathleen Gillman, Starplex Cinemas
Jon Muscalo, Legends Hospitality Management
Further information on this initiative will be released as it becomes available. In the meantime, any questions or contributions can be directed to Executive Vice President NAC Dan Borschke at dborschke@NAConline.org or 312-236-3858.
