Variety Boys & Girls Club – Lapidus/NAC Scholarship Recipients

The National Association of Concessionaires (NAC) has announced the names of the individuals who will receive scholarships as a result of the Al Lapidus/Variety Boys & Girls Club Scholarship Golf Classic, put on by NAC each year at CinemaCon. The event was held this year on Monday, April 20, 2015 at the beautiful Bali Hai Golf Club in Las Vegas. The 2015 event enjoyed strong corporate sponsorship and golfer participation and was the most successful Classic in recent years. The scholarship recipients are chosen by the Variety Boys and Girls Club of Los Angeles.

Al Lapidus/NAC Academic Scholarships
($12,000 over 4 years)
Teresita Martinez, Roosevelt High School, UCLA
Adrianne Martinez-Nava, Ramon C. Cortines High School, Cal State Northridge

Al Lapidus/NAC Vocational Scholarship
($2,000 over 2 years)
Alejandro Aguilera, Mendez High School, L.A. Trade Tech

Variety Boys and Girls Club has a 65-year tradition of providing worthwhile and meaningful activities and programs to the children and youth of the community. They offer services to any child who wants, and/or needs them. There are no geographical limitations to membership, although most of our members come from areas surrounding the Club. Variety is an international organization of people in the entertainment business whose goal is to help underprivileged children.

The Golf Classic is named for the late NAC past president Al Lapidus, and proceeds from the tournament benefit college scholarships for the Variety Boys & Girls Club of East Los Angeles, the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation, and the educational programs of the National Association of Concessionaires.

About NAC: The National Association of Concessionaires, founded in 1944, is the trade association for the recreation and leisure-time food and beverage concessions industry.
