NAC Reorganizes Committees, Appoints Chairs

The National Association of Concessionaires (NAC) has announced a reorganization to its committee structure. The previous Internet, Publication and Education Committee will be split into two separate groups called the Communications Committee and the Education Committee. In addition, a new Mentorship Sub-Committee has been added to the Membership Marketing Committee. The reorganization addresses changing dynamics among members in relation to advances in technology, communication channels and learning techniques.

NAC President Terry Conlon, ECM, University of Illinois, has made the following appointments which are effective immediately.

Brian Biehn, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, FUNacho/Pretzel Haus Bakery, has been named Chair of the newly created Education Committee. Biehn, a member since 1995, is currently on the Board of Directors and previously served as a Regional Vice President (RVP), Chair of the RVP Committee and a member of the Hospitality Committee.

Gary Wattie, Senior Vice President Sales, Centerplate, has been named Chair of the newly created Communications Committee. Wattie, a member since 2009, is currently on the Board of Directors and in 2014 received the prestigious Mickey Warner Award. The Award is bestowed upon an individual by NAC each year to recognize leadership and significant accomplishments in the non-theatre concession industry.

In a related move, Danielle Doran, Concessions Manager, University of Oklahoma, has been named Chair of the Membership Marketing Committee. Doran, a member since 2011, currently serves on the Board of Directors.

The Mentorship Sub-Committee is purposed with helping Association members fully understand and take advantage of all the exciting benefits NAC has to offer leading to greater member retention. Tish Hardric, National Sales Manager-Theatre Division, Great Western Products, is the Chair of the Mentorship Sub-Committee.
