The City of Hampton is seeking a Food & Beverage Manager to manage all aspects of the food and beverage services provided by the department at Hampton Coliseum, The American Theatre, and the Charles H. Taylor Arts Center.

Key qualifications include Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree in Food Service, Hotel/Restaurant Management, or Business Administration. Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience with progressively more responsibility in the management of food and beverage service for an arena, stadium, or convention center; a minimum of 3 years of experience in the supervision of food and beverage personnel. Must have considerable knowledge of the safe handling of industrial cooking equipment. Food Service Management Certification required or must be obtained within first six weeks of employment. TIPs trainer certification required or must be obtained within the first twelve weeks of employment. Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local health laws pertaining to the storage, handling, preparation, and dispensing of food and beverage. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel. Must have considerable knowledge of standard business, managerial, and “store-keeping” operations and procedures. Must be eligible to be bonded. Will be subject to a criminal background check. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and must have a satisfactory driver’s record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria. Any acceptable combination of experience and education that qualifies an applicant may be substituted for the more specific requirements listed above.
