Job Description:
The Calgary Flames will celebrate 34 years in Calgary during the 2014/15 season. Since arriving from Atlanta on May 21, 1980, the Flames have become a part of the fabric of Calgary with on-ice success and an off-ice commitment to the community.
Over the past 10 years, the Flames have expanded their operations to include the Western Hockey League’s Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club, the National Lacrosse League’s Calgary Roughnecks and a majority ownership position with the Canadian Football League’s Calgary Stampeders. These teams, together with the Flames now compose the main operating assets for Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and as a part of the senior management team, the position of Vice President, Food & Beverage Operations will have responsibility to manage and grow the successful food and beverage business which is located both within the Scotiabank Saddledome and McMahon Stadium. The successful candidate will be responsible for budgeting, the management of personnel, supplier relations, product choice, sales and brand marketing. Current properties that will be managed through this department include: Avison Young Club, Flames Platinum Club, Saddleroom Grill, the Alumni Lounge, The King Club, and Dutton’s Lounge.
The ideal candidate would be a senior operations manager with experience in a fast-paced food and beverage environment from the restaurant, hospitality or arena & major event industries, with extensive knowledge of the preparation and marketing of products in a high volume location. Entrepreneurial by nature, candidates should have a blend of tactical operations and strategy, and will be able to create a clear signature of the brand.
