Preferred Popcorn Launches New Organic Products, Doubles Manufacturing Capacity

| September 22, 2017

That melt-in-your-mouth theatre popcorn just gained a new claim to fame as movie-goers may soon be able to choose a certified organic option.

Preferred Popcorn introduced the new product this fall in the form of pre-measured, organic popcorn kits. According to CEO, Norm Krug, “The organic All-in-One kits are an easy and affordable way to offer an organic snack. They eliminate the difficulty of sourcing, storing and properly managing individual organic ingredients, and give theatres a way to serve a growing base of attendees looking for healthier snacks.

Ashley Mundt, a New York City based parenting consultant expressed interest in the new organic snack. “I work with many parents who would love to eliminate artificial dyes and flavors completely from their children’s diets. All-natural popcorn – that still tastes like the movie theatre classic = a definite win.”

Preferred Popcorn also announced a multi-million dollar expansion last week, adding 22,500 square feet and state-of-the-art technology that will more than double Preferred’s operational capacity.

The expansion comes just in time for the company’s 20th anniversary, and celebrates its growth from a small processing center, purchased by a handful of local farmers, to one of the largest popcorn manufacturing centers in the world, serving customers in more than 65 countries.

Norm credits Preferred Popcorn’s rapid growth to “…serving our customers with integrity. We started out taking care of our friends and neighbors and we’ll always keep that small-town approach, caring deeply about each of our customers. Many of our customers have been with us for more than a dozen years – they’re like family.”
