Helton Named Associate Director of Education

The National Association of Concessionaires (NAC) has announced that Wally Helton, ECM, Vice President-Food and Beverage, Merchandising and Promotions with Cinemark USA, Inc. has been named the Associate Director of Education for NAC. In this new role, Helton will be supporting the ongoing educational programs of NAC along with Larry Etter, CCM, NAC’s Director of Education and Senior Vice President of Malco Theatres.

In a related announcement, Helton will bring his many years of experience as a concession operator as the lead instructor for the upcoming Accredited Concession Supplier Certification (ACS) class which will take place on July 19, 2016 at the Depot Renaissance in Minneapolis. The class is being held for the first time in conjunction with the NAC Concessions and Hospitality Expo which runs from July 19-22. More information on the course is available on NAConline.org.

The ACS program, is a one-day seminar that will teach suppliers how a concession operator thinks; the priorities, service objectives and challenges of concessionaires; and how you as a supplier can be a partner in meeting those needs and objectives.

Helton has been an extremely important and active member of NAC. He is a past recipient of the prestigious Bert Nathan Memorial Award. The award designates active involvement in NAC, providing positive leadership direction, significant contributions to the development and professionalism of the concessions industry with significant accomplishments and longevity to the theatre concessions industry and current, active involvement in theatre concessions at the executive level.
