Inaugural Joe Chabot Expo Scholarship Awarded to Griffin
The National Association of Concessionaires (NAC) has announced that the very first Joe Chabot Memorial Expo Scholarship has been awarded to Patrick Griffin. The 2016 Concession & Hospitality Expo will take place on July 19-22 at the Depot Renaissance in Minneapolis. Griffin is an intern at Five Star Cinemas located in the Twin Cities.
“I want to build on what I have learned so far by immersing myself in this industry as much as I can,” said Griffin. He added, “This convention is an opportunity to learn new lessons, to interact with a wide host of people and companies, and to gain experience in a field which I am both interested and involved with.”
The scholarship was founded in the honor and memory of NAC Board member Joe Chabot, of Moore Theatres, who passed away unexpectedly on August 4, 2015. The fund was created by a very generous initial grant from the Moore Family and will continue through donations and proceeds from the NAC Joe Chabot Memorial Silent Auction and the NAC Run/Walk. The auction was also renamed in Joe’s honor.
The scholarship package includes full registration to the NAC Annual Convention, three nights’ hotel accommodations and a travel stipend.
