Mark your Calendar for the 2014 Al Lapidus Golf Tournament
The 30th Annual Al Lapidus Golf Tournament at the Anthem Golf Club in suburban Las Vegas is scheduled prior to the start of CinemaCon on Monday, March 24, 2014. The event will benefit the Variety Boys and Girls Club of East Los Angeles which over the last 30 years has provided over $600,000 for college scholarships to those who would have probably not had the opportunity to attend a university without the generosity of attendees and sponsors of this annual event. Additional dollars will also benfit the NAC Educational Fund and the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation. Skip Stefansen, Past President of NAC and who has been integrally involved in the Lapidus Golf Tournament since its inception and Chair for the last 12 years has announced that this will be his last year at the helm and will work diligently to make the 2014 event the best yet! NAC Board Members Adam Gottlieb, ACS of CCSI and Charlie Gomez of Ricos Products Company will again Co-Chair the Lapidus Golf Committee which oversees the planning and operations of the 2014 event.
Sponsorship and Registration Information will be forthcoming on the NAC website.
The Golf Outing was created to honor Al Lapidus, a former NAC President and major supplier of popcorn to West Coast theatres. Al was a major supporter of the Variety Boys and Girls Club of East Los Angeles to the point that he died of a heart attack on Halloween Night 31 years ago passing out candy to the kids of the club.
