Great Western Products Receives SQF Level II Certification

Hollywood, AL – Great Western Products, a leading supplier of food products to the concessions industry, has taken the measures to become SQF Level II Certified. The certification of the Assumption, IL and Hollywood, AL locations was completed in late 2016 and mid-summer 2017 respectively. SQF (Safe Quality Food) is a benchmarked standard, and is recognized globally as the standard for food safety certification programs.

SQF Level II Certification means that Great Western Products has implemented a HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and ISO based food safety program that is recognized by GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative). It also communicates that the organization has a Quality Management System (QMS) which meets or exceeds to food safety regulations, as well as conveys a commitment to continued improvements of QMS. Great Western Products has also modeled the organization is a practitioner of good agricultural practices (GAPs) and good manufacturing principals (GMPs) for food.

HACCP is a risk management system that identifies, evaluates, and controls hazards related to food safety throughout the food supply chain (www.sqfi.com). HACCP was implemented at Great Western Products to assure customers that every rational precaution to ensure food safety has been taken. It also helps reduce contamination-related food losses as well as improves the design of new food products.
