Happy Holidays from the National Association of Concessionaires (NAC)

| December 21, 2022

Let us begin by wishing you a very Joyous Holiday Season and a Happy New Year! In recognition, our offices will be closed on December 26 and January 2.

The dawning of 2023 is bringing reports of stabilization from all parts of the Entertainment and Recreational Food and Beverage Industry. As a direct reflection of the industry, NAC is also looking at 2023 as a rebound year. As we all know, it has been necessary to be flexible and shift business practices to fit a new environment. Your trade association, NAC, is taking an in-depth and ongoing look at how we are positioned to best serve your needs.

We recently de-commissioned the NAC Home Office in Chicago. The move is being made to align our resources to better serve our members. As a result, the staff of Chris Dammann, Barbara Aslan and Brenda Hamill will be working remotely going forward. In order to ensure a smooth transition, please update your records to the following. This change of address is immediate. Phones and email remain unchanged.

Based on input from the Town Hall Meeting that we held during The 2022 Concession and Hospitality Expo in Orlando, The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors is exploring several key initiatives. These include reviewing the NAC Mission, exploring a re-brand that is more in-line with today’s recreational food service operations and developing new sources of member engagement and revenue for the Association. You will be seeing more on these key initiatives in the weeks and months to come.

The schedule for 2023 is coming together. Here are just a few things to look forward to:

The 2023-24 cycle of the Regional Seminar Series, “Recreational Food Service – Today, Tomorrow and Beyond” is coming to a town near you! This half-day seminar will hit the road beginning with a kick-off at Royal Corporation Headquarters in Santa Fe Springs, CA. NAC Director of Education, Larry Etter, CCM, will be the instructor. A schedule and registration information will be available shortly.

NAC at CinemaCon. We look forward to returning to Las Vegas with several features and activities. Board and Committee meetings will take place on April 23 at Caesars Palace. The NAC Charity Golf Event is slated for Monday, April 24 at Paiute Golf Resort. As usual, there will be a complimentary meeting room for our members to reserve throughout CinemaCon. NAC will again host an educational seminar tentatively scheduled for the morning of April 27 and we will also be on hand on the trade show floor. As a reminder, CinemaCon Registration is open for attendees, trade show booths and sponsorships. NAC members receive significant discounts!

Save the dates for the 2023 NAC Concession & Hospitality EXPO, scheduled for Memphis, Tennessee and the historic Peabody Hotel. The event is Tuesday, July 18 through Friday, July 21, 2023. The Expo committee is busy planning terrific educational sessions, great social functions and exciting events. Much more to come in the weeks and months ahead. Board and committee activities begin on Monday, July 17.

And finally, we always like to remind you that we are more than just meetings and events. Everyday resources are always at your disposal such as naconline.org, NAC social media channels, our weekly e-newsletter, periodic Check-In Chat Zoom Meetings, NAC Industry Certification Programs, complimentary Job and RFP listings, and an active Government Relations and Advocacy program to name just a few. NAC is here for you, please reach out if you have any questions about your membership.

Happy Holidays to the members and friends of NAC and a very blessed Happy and Safe New Year!
