Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot

In a proclamation dated June 24, Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot has designated July 30, 2019 as, National Association of Concessionaires (NAC) Day in Chicago in recognition of the men and women of the National Association of Concessionaires and their hard work in ensuring our events are well provided for.”

The special day coincides with the first day of the NAC Concession and Hospitality Expo which will run from July 30 through August 2, 2019 at the Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park Hotel during its 75th Anniversary year! This will be the first time the Expo, now in its 37th year, will be held in its home town of Chicago.

In addition to the annual Expo business sessions, educational offerings, tours, trade show and social functions, NAC has several very special events planned as part of Expo:

-The NAC 75th Anniversary Celebration at the Crystal Gardens of Navy Pier. Great food and beverage, great friends and conversation, great music and even a fireworks display will make this evening one to remember.

-A “Kindness Initiative” community event at the NAC Trade Show where NAC volunteers will give forward and pack donated backpacks with necessary school supplies to prepare in-need students for the return to school. It is estimated that the Chicago Public School System serves more than 30,000 children who are homeless or are in temporary housing situations. NAC is partnering with the Children’s First Fund to help raise money to purchase the supplies. Donations for this special project are welcomed.

-98 Vendors from the NAC Expo Trade Show will donate extra and unused product to Chicago area causes.

-NAC is sponsoring a year-long campaign with a goal to provide 30,000 meals to the Greater Chicago Food Depository through donations from its members.

-Visits throughout the week featuring iconic Chicago venues such as Wrigley Field, Guaranteed Rate Park and United Center; as well as events at Buddy Guy’s Legends, The AMC Block 37 Dine-in Theatres and a tour of C. Cretors & Company.
