Fresno Grizzlies Select Professional Sports Catering, LLC
Professional Sports Catering, LLC, (PSC) in conjunction with the Fresno Grizzlies (Pacific Coast League, Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros), announced a partnership today. PSC has been selected to bring their expertise to the management of food and beverage operations at Chukchansi Park, including concessions, catering, and staffing for all baseball and entertainment events at the stadium. PSC has the most accounts in Minor League Baseball (29 teams, plus three spring training facilities for a total of 32 stadia).
The most immediate changes fans and customers will notice upon PSC taking over Grizzlies’ concessions will be an improved and streamlined point of sale system. Newer and faster debit/credit card systems will have fans back in their seats and enjoying the action much faster during the game, and will significantly reduce lines and wait time at all concession locations throughout Chukchansi Park. Grizzlies fans won’t recognize the concession areas when they see PSC’s new branding, with all new signage and looks for each stand and portable.
“With everything we do, from promotions to concessions, we always ask ourselves how it can make the fan experience better. Food and beverage is often the first thing a Grizzlies fan experiences when they’re at Chukchansi Park,” said Fresno Grizzlies General Manager Derek Franks. “PSC has an outstanding track record and reputation nationally; and our fans will immediately notice greater value for their dollar than in the past.”
Improved quality of concessions without drastic price increases will also be a goal of the new PSC partnership in Fresno. While the typical ballpark favorites will remain, in typical Grizzlies fashion the front office and PSC will work together to continue to introduce new unique food items, which will be unveiled closer to Opening Day 2017 (April 6 vs. Reno, 7:05 p.m.). Popular in-park portables will remain, including local taco trucks.
Large groups enjoying Chukchansi Park during Grizzlies baseball, Fresno Fuego Soccer or other stadium occasions will also notice an improved experience in catering their special events. PSC will focus to improve the wait staff, bar service and food experience in the Phoenix Club, the spacious function room space on the second level of the ballpark.
“We have already begun to work with the Grizzlies staff to implement some significant improvements to the food and beverage experience at the ballpark,” said Tom Dickson, CEO of PSC. “At PSC, we are dedicated to delivering an exceptional experience to all of the guests and we are excited to bring many improvements to the fans in Fresno.”
The on-site general manager for PSC, overseeing all food, beverage and catering needs for the Grizzlies will be veteran Minor League Baseball operator Pat Day. Day has enjoyed a long career working on both the baseball and hospitality ends of the business, running successful franchises in Lansing, MI, Montgomery, AL and most recently in New Britain, CT.
