NAC to Establish Joe Chabot Memorial Expo Scholarship and Silent Auction
The National Association of Concessionaires (NAC) has announced the establishment of the Joe Chabot Memorial Expo Scholarship in honor and memory of NAC Board member Joe Chabot, who passed away unexpectedly on August 4, 2015. The Scholarship will allow an NAC member to attend the full Concessions & Hospitality Expo with hotel and airfare included. This new scholarship will be in addition to the annual NAC President’s Expo Scholarship.
In addition, NAC will also rename its annual silent auction as the Joe Chabot Memorial Silent Auction benefitting the NAC Education Fund.
Joe Chabot of Moore Theatres in Kalamazoo, Michigan was a loyal supporter of NAC and had just begun his second year of a two-year term on the Board of Directors at the annual meeting on July 23, 20015 in Cincinnati. Carol Moore and Moore Theatres have been members of NAC since 1995.
The scholarship is a testament to Joe and Carol’s commitment to NAC educational programs over the years. The couple has been a fixture at the Expo since 2003, often times bringing staff members along. Their staff has been in attendance at every NAC Regional Seminar dating back to 1996.
Joe and Carol have also been some of the biggest contributors to the NAC Silent Auction. The Auction is an annual event at the Expo with proceeds benefitting the NAC Education fund.
The scholarship will be funded by memorials, donations from NAC members and a contribution from Carol Moore and the Moore family. NAC members interested in applying can CLICK HERE FOR AN APPLICATION.
